Service Description
Biomarker: LP(a) Sample: BLOOD Results: 2 HRS Phlebotomy fee: £10 LPA test measures the levels of LP(a), a type of lipoprotein that is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Lp(a) is similar to LDL cholesterol, but it has an additional protein attached to it. This protein makes Lp(a) more likely to stick to the walls of arteries, which can increase the risk of heart disease. Elevated levels of LP(a) have been associated with : -- Chest pain or discomfort (angina) -- Shortness of breath (with exertion or during physical activity) -- Fatigue: Persistent lack of energy or feeling excessively tired even with minimal exertion. -- Palpitations: Sensations of irregular, rapid, or pounding heartbeat. -- Dizziness or light-headedness: Feeling faint or experiencing a sensation of spinning or instability. -- Leg pain or cramping: Discomfort or pain in the legs, typically during physical activity, which may improve with rest.
